Printing and Scanning Workstation

Purpose:

  • Digital photographs for publication and presentation.
  • The Fuji Pictrography 3000 uses lasers to expose red, green and blue onto photographic emulsion.
  • Print is fully processed in 4 minutes.
  • Prints at 133, 200, 267 or 320 ppi.
  • You must provide bitmap files.
  • Bitmap files include the following: tiff, targa (or RGB) pict, photoshop, bmp or most other bitmaps.
  • Addtional printers include the Epson Stylus Inkjet Printer, Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 2500cp, and Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 3500cp.
  • Scan existing negatives and x-ray films.
  • Convert from color to greyscale.
  • Improve or enhance dark, uneven or muddy detail.
  • Place in figures for publication.

BioRad Gel Doc 1000

Purpose:

  • To capture images and perform densitometric measurements on autorads, x-ray films, autoradiograms,SDS-page gels, silver-stained gels (wet or dry), polaroids, blots on nitrocellulose, ethidium bromide gels.
  • Also use for printing black and white images on the Kodak XL 7700 dye sublimation printer - 1536 x 2408 pixels (~200 dpi).
  • Scan Autorads, X-ray Films, Autoradiograms, SDS-Page Gels, Silver-stained Gels (wet or dry), Polaroids, Blots on Nitrocellulose, or Ethidium Bromide Gels.
