Multi-Photon Confocal
Submitted by staff on Tue, 2005-05-17 21:31
Purpose:
- Collect optical sections from fluorescent samples with higher z resolution less likelihood of photo damage to live tissue, and greater penetration into sample. (up to 200 microns depending on sample)
- Optical sections can be used for 3-D reconstruction or for in focus infrormation at several optical depths.
- Collect optical sections with water immersion lenses from petri dishes, culture plates, etc.
- Can also be used as a single photon confocal.
- Environmental chamber, micromanipulator and microinjection unit on microscope.
- Samples can be heated and flow-through systems available.
- DIC/Phase and fluorescence can be collected at the same time.
- UV dyes on samples can be used (INDO dyes for example) and calcium flux can be followed.
- Instrument set-up for time series (4-D series).
- Photo flashing/bleaching also available with existing tsunami laser.
